Summer Grilling Safety Tips!

Every year when the weather gets warmer more and more people are outdoors using their grills! We can’t help it, with summer right upon us there is nothing better then being outside grilling some BBQ enjoying the warm weather! Unfortunately, on average every year roughly just over 10,000 home fires occur due to grills, hibachis, and barbecues. Here are some BBQ safety tips that will keep you and your home safe for your summer barbecuing season:
- Keep your grill away from any structures, such as your house, porch, or garage.
- Regularly clean your grill, grease is a major source of flare ups.
- Check for gas leaks.
- Always have a fire extinguisher nearby in case of emergencies.
- Never leave your grill unattended.
- Keep a spray bottle of water handy incase minor flare ups happen you can spray with water to instantly calm it.
- Never use your grill indoors!
- Keep children and pets away from grill!
- Always wait for your grill to cool off before attempting to move it.
- If using a charcoal grill always soak coals in grill with water after cooking.
